About the role
For an international life sciences environment in Leiden, we are looking for an enthusiastic and independent HR Advisor.
In this role, you will support the HR Manager within an organisation where trust, flexibility and personal responsibility are central. The position combines operational HR administration with HR projects and advisory work.
Approximately 50% of the role focuses on operational HR administration, while the other 50% focuses on projects, HR topics and process improvement. You combine administrative accuracy with analytical skills, ownership and a practical approach to improving HR processes.
Key responsibilities
- Manage HR administration related to onboarding, internal changes and offboarding.
- Prepare employment contracts, letters and HR documentation.
- Maintain and update employee files.
- Process HR mutations in AFAS.
- Monitor performance and appraisal cycles.
- Support absence management processes.
- Maintain contact with external partners, such as occupational health services and payroll administration.
- Prepare HR analyses and reports, including absence data, leave balances and exit data.
- Contribute to the setup and further development of HR structures and processes.
- Support topics related to employee participation and organisational development.
- Identify and implement improvements in HR processes and systems.
- Act as a point of contact for employees and managers.
- Support the HR Manager with operational, advisory and project-related HR activities.
Requirements
You are structured, accurate and able to work independently. You feel comfortable in a flexible environment where ownership, trust and personal responsibility are important.
You combine strong administrative skills with the ability to analyse HR processes, identify improvements and support managers and employees in a clear and professional way.
Your background
- Completed HBO degree in Human Resource Management, Personnel & Labour or a related field is required.
- At least 2 years of relevant experience as an HR Advisor.
- Experience handling employment law-related cases and applying relevant Dutch labour legislation.
- Experience guiding and monitoring absence management processes.
- Knowledge of the Dutch Gatekeeper Improvement Act is required.
- Able to independently organise, structure and manage projects from start to completion.
- Experience with AFAS HR is a plus.
- Proactive and able to work independently.
- Comfortable working in a flexible environment with a high level of personal responsibility.
- Strong command of Dutch is required.
- Good command of English, both written and spoken.
